Can you tell us a little about what brought you to the University of Minnesota and the Retail Merchandising program?
For my first semester of college, I attended a different school in the area and planned to pursue a degree in business. During that semester, I realized that I was neither happy with the school nor the business program. I have always wanted to attend a Big Ten university, but at the same time, I wanted to pursue a business degree more specific to the fashion industry.

Can you tell us a little about what brought you to the University
of Minnesota and the Retail Merchandising program?
When I was finally able to get a job at age 16, I began working part time at a Target store thinking that it would solely be a job that was a) boring, b) would allow me to get some sort of spending money as a teenager with limited allowance and c) I would gain absolutely no experience out of the job.

The faculty in apparel studies program at the University of Minnesota are nationally known as scholars and researchers. The program offers many interesting graduate courses, which enable beginning graduate students to explore and find what their area of specialization. I earned my undergraduate degree in retail merchandising at the University of Minnesota. During my undergraduate study, I had a chance to meet faculty members in the Apparel Studies program at the University of Minnesota and loved them.
